is sweet. It's ubiquitous. And it is one of the single
biggest threats to public health worldwide. Found
in everything from candy, cookies and cake to pasta
sauce, salad dressing and bread, it appears in more
than 30 monikers. Although sugar increases food palatability
and satiety, it is the proverbial double-edged sword,
a "liquid candy" linked to numerous and
reverberating health issues ranging from dental caries
to obesity and diabetes.

Palmer, CECHE’s vice chairman, who passed away
this January, leaving behind a legacy of advocacy
for democracy and freedom for oppressed societies.
